We have a requirement for a Lead Piping Engineer; the position is based in Leatherhead United Kingdom, with an immediate start.

Duties Include:

  • To perform the review of piping detailed engineering works (deliverables both from the contractor and the vendors)
    • In compliance with Project Scope of Work, Specifications and Procedures, discipline requirements and internations codes and standards
    • To lead an adequate progress of the design, procurement and fabrication / construction. The piping engineer shall ensure that the contractor issue the studies and engineering documents in logical order, and in line with overall project planning. He shall propose corrective actions if required
  • To identify any deviation from the project basis of requirements and reporting these ot the engineering leader
  • To supervise in coordination with area Project Engineers, the inspection and test plans (ITP) and FAT preparation and execution, in liaison with the Project Procurement and Inspection teams. TO attent meetings / FATs with Vendors where necessary
  • To organise and coordinate assistance from the client or from external specialists as necessary
  • To assist with the review of the other discipline deliverables
  • To answer and implement SPOT/PTR actions
  • To report the engineering leader any area of concern concerning quality or discipline progress
  • To support and enforce the HSEQ Project objectives and directives in compliance with the project HSEQ management system

Experience required:

  • Bachelors Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
  • at least 8 years experience as a piping design engineer in a multi discipline project team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English)
  • Previous experience working for a reputable contractor during detailed engineering for a similar size offshore project (ideally for an FPSO) Good understanding of the piping design from PID’s to finalisation of 3D PDMS model. Interface with safety and mechanical for access and equipment handling; attend formal design reviews with contractor. Assist with stress engineering for pipe stress analysis packages. Have a good knowledge of valves types and selection
